Freshman Mika Ikemori of UC Davis Collects First Player of the Week Award of Young Career

32728UC Davis freshman Mika Ikemori went undefeated (2-0) on the week with a pair of triumphs versus two conference opponents at No. 3 singles to secure The Big West Women's Tennis Player of the Week award. For consecutive weeks, a member of UC Davis has earned the weekly accolade. This is the first weekly distinction of Ikemori's collegiate career, and the first time a freshman has won the award in The Big West since Apr. 25, 2023. 

• The Freshman notched the two points recorded for the Aggies over the weekend. Ikemori went toe-to-toe with UC Santa Barbara's Kira Reuter before coming out on top with the win, 7-5, 6-4.  

• On Saturday, the Huntington Beach, Calif. native roared from behind and took down Cal Poly's Romane Mosse (3-6, 6-4, 6-2) and brought home another point for UC Davis. The Aggies are 2-5 overall.
