Elijah Pepper of UC Davis Claims Player of the Week Award After High-Scoring Performances

  • 8137UC Davis guard Elijah Pepper averaged 20.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 3.0 steals per game in two wins to earn The Big West Player of the Week award. It is Pepper's fifth career weekly honor, having won it once in each of the last three seasons (Feb. 15, 2021, Dec. 6, 2021, Dec. 19, 2022), and once earlier this year (Jan. 22). It is the third time this season that an Aggie has won the weekly accolade after Ty Johnson was bestowed the award on Dec. 18. 

  • The senior scored 24 points with seven rebounds, six assists and four steals in Thursday’s 79-69 road victory over UC Santa Barbara. 

  • On Saturday, Pepper compiled 16 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two steals in a 59-52 road win against Cal Poly. 

  • Pepper currently has 2,063 career points, the fourth most in the history of The Big West. 

  • UC Davis is currently 14-8 overall and tied for second in The Big West standings with a 9-2 conference record. The Selah, Wash. product is currently leading the league in scoring, averaging 21.0 points per game, to go along with 4.9 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.8 steals per contest.
