Yuliia Zhytelna of CSUN Collects Second Career Weekly Honor

32849• Redshirt junior Yuliia Zhytelna went undefeated in both No. 2 singles (3-0) and doubles this week (2-0) and was instrumental in CSUN’s 3-0 start to secure The Big West Women’s Tennis Player of the Week award. This is the second weekly distinction of Zhytelna’s collegiate career (Feb. 8, 2023).    

• The Kiev, Ukraine native partnered with CSUN’s Sasha Turchak and took down each opposition in doubles on the week (Brionna Nguyen/Kamya Nair (UCR) 6-0), (Hana Gamracy/Erin Richardson (USF) 5-3, Unfinished), (JennaMarie/Gordon/Velizara Fileva (SCU) 6-2).      

• In singles play, Zhytelna handled business against all opponents as well defeating Maya Youssef of UC Riverside, 5-7, 6-4, 6-1, Hana Gamracy of San Francisco, 3-6, 6-4, 7-5, and Finley Kalinec of Santa Clara, 6-1, 6-1. Currently, CSUN is sporting its first undefeated start since the 2014-15 season when the squad raced out to a 9-0 record.
