Alexis Whitfield, UC Santa Barbara  Women's Basketball Player of the Week  Senior • Forward • West Hills, Calif.

• Senior Alexis Whitfield averaged a double-double on the week for UC Santa Barbara to secure a third Big West Player of the Week award of the season. Also earning acclaim on Nov. 20 and Jan. 29, Whitfield is the first three-time winner in 2023-24.  

• Whitfield put up 19 points to go along with eight rebounds in a 60-52 victory over UC San Diego on Thursday. The forward was 2-for-2 from distance while also adding four assists, two steals and a block in the contest. 

• Saturday at Hawai’i the product of West Hills, Calif., scored 21 points to go along with 17 rebounds in a 68-64 loss on O’ahu. Whitfield played all 40 minutes in the game, only missing 1:17 in total over the course of the Gauchos’ two contests. 

• Along with averaging 20.0 points and 12.5 rebounds per game in the weekend split, Whitfield shot .464 from the floor and .714 from three. 

• Whitfield currently leads The Big West in field goal percentage (46.8) and rebounds per game (9.8) and is ranked 14th in NCAA Division I averaging 7.7 offensive rebounds a night.
