CSUN pitcher Lauryn Carranco went undefeated during three appearances and posted a spotless ERA and notched the third complete game of the sophomore's career in the Diamond Classic this weekend to clinch the first Big West Pitcher of the week award. This is the fourth weekly distinction of Carranco's collegiate career after securing Big West Freshman of the Week three times in 2023 (Apr. 3, May 1, 8).

The former Big West Freshman of the Pitcher Year tossed a 2-0 victory versus Utah Tech to get things started. During game two of the doubleheader, Carranco pitched CSUN our of a bases loaded jam. Against Pacific, the sophomore retired all seven batters and sparked a 3-2 comeback victory for the Matadors. Later in the afternoon versus Utah Tech, Carranco's number was called for 4.2 innings and stranded a pair of runners in a tie game in the seventh inning to have CSUN come away with the eventful 8-7 win.
- Carranco contributed 12 strikeouts, and only allowed four walks in 14 innings of work over the weekend. CSUN sports the best record in The Big West at 8-1 overall in 2024 alongside eight straight victories for the Matadors.

Field Player of the Week

Senior outfielder Megan Delgadillo went 13-for-19 this weekend for Cal State Fullerton behind five total hits and an RBI to earn The Big West Field Player of the Week accolade. This is the fourth weekly distinction of Delgadillo's collegiate career after earning Field Player of the Week once (Feb. 28, 2022) and Freshman of the week twice in 2020. (Feb. 10, Mar. 2).

Delgadillo went a perfect 5-for-5 against BYU and recorded the 200th career hit of the senior's collegiate career. Against Arizona State, Delgadillo gained three more hits and added another in a loss versus GCU. With 206 total career hits, Delgadillo needs just three more to surpass former Titan, Nikki Hart, for 10-most career hits in program history.

Currently, Delgadillo leads The Big West in hits (20) and has the second-highest batting average (.645) and doubles (4) and stolen bases (6). Cal State Fullerton is 6-3 overall on the season thus far.

Freshman of the Week

UC Santa Barbara freshman pitcher Ainsley Waddell went 1-1 in the circle with a 1.70 ERA in two starts while also batting .500 at the plate (9 hits) for the Gauchos to garner The Big West Freshman of the Year honor. This is the first weekly distinction of Waddell's colligate career.

At the plate, Waddell warranted nine hits, three of which were for extra bases. Over the weekend, Waddell swung seven RBIs and scored three runs of the freshman's own against Iowa State and UNLV. The San Carlos, Calif. Native also hit a home run for the first time of the career.
- In the circle, Waddell picked up the first colligate win of freshman's career versus UNLV in complete game fashion while striking out five. Overall, Waddell sat down 13 batters in 12.1 innings pitcher while opponents only hit at a .245 clip against the first year. UC Santa Barbara is currently 3-7 overall.
