Right-handed pitcher Kate Judy started three times in the circle for the Mustangs and fired for 15 innings with 14 strikeouts and a 1.40 ERA to earn the first Big West Pitcher of the week award. This is the second weekly distinction of Judy's collegiate career (Apr. 11, 2022).     

The junior played a pivotal part in Cal Poly's 1-0 victory versus Sacramento State on Friday by allowing zero earned runs in the shutout victory for the Mustangs. The Seattle, Wash. Native came up even bigger versus Middle Tennessee on Saturday when Judy sat down eight batters and tossed 119 total pitches in seven innings of action as Cal Poly came from behind and emerged victorious, 4-3.   

Junior outfielder Jessica Clements went 9 of 16 at bat (.563 avg.) with six runs, a pair of doubles, and three stolen bases to clinch the first rendition of The Big West Field Player of the Week award in 2024. This is the third weekly distinction of Clements's collegiate career after earning Freshman of the week twice in 2022. (Feb. 14, Apr. 11).   

During Cal Poly' two games versus San Jose State and Middle Tennessee on Friday and Saturday, the Salinas, Calif. product produced a perfect performance at the plate going 2-for-2 and 3-for-3 offensively in both contests. Clements currently leads the league in hits (9) and is now 118-for-298 (.396) in all-time college, adding on to the all-time hit record in Cal Poly program history.    

Cal Poly is currently sits atop The Big West standings following opening weekend with an unblemished record of 5-0. 

UC San Diego outfielder Lexi O'Gorman made an impact at the plate after batting .400 in the first five games of the freshman's collegiate career. This is the first weekly distinction for O'Gorman.   

The San Carlos, Calif. Native went 6-for-15 during the La Jolla Invitational. O'Gorman recorded a hit in four of the five contests on the weekend.
