- UC San Diego's Tyler McGhie averaged 21.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 4.3 3-pointers per game in three wins at the Boardwalk Battle to claim The Big West Men's Basketball Player of the Week award. It is McGhie's first career weekly honor.
- The Triton swingman shot 46.9 percent (23-of-49) from the floor, 43.3 percent (13-of-30) from behind the arc and 100 percent (4-of-4) from the charity stripe in the three contests.
- McGhie amassed 27 points, seven rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block in a 72-67 victory versus La Salle to open the MTE, Friday.
- The Denton, Texas product scored nine points with three rebounds and three assists in a 73-67 win in the second game against James Madison, Saturday.
- The senior went for 27 points, with seven made 3-pointers, four rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block in Sunday's 80-45 triumph over Toledo.
- The Tritons won the Boardwalk Battle MTE with a 3-0 record and McGhie was named the tournament's MVP.
- UC San Diego is 5-2 to start the season. McGhie is averaging 13.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game.
