Offensive Player of the Week 
Sara Ybarra, Cal State Bakersfield | Junior • Midfielder • San Gabriel, Calif. 
  • 8014Sara Ybarra registered a pair of goals in both matchups for Cal State Bakersfield last week to earn The Big West Offensive Player of the Week award. This is the first weekly distinction of junior’s collegiate career.    

  • Ybarra netted the second score in the 49th minute during CSUB’s 3-0 victory over the Tritons. With the win, Cal State Bakersfield claimed its first win in program history over UC San Diego.   

  • The following match against UC Riverside, the ‘Runners recorded a 1-1 result. Ybarra tallied the team's lone goal in clutch fashion (80:53) with less than ten minutes to keep CSUB unbeaten on the week.

Defensive Player of the Week 
Kennedy Justin, Hawai'i | Redshirt freshman • Goalkeeper • Long Beach, Calif. 
  • 25388Hawai’i posted back-to-back shutouts in its pair of wins in large part of goalkeeper Kennedy Justin who takes home this week’s edition of Big West Defensive Player of the Week. This is the first weekly award of the freshman’s career.

  • Justin posted two saves in the two contests against CSUN and Cal State Fullerton in all 180 minutes of action. Overall, Kennedy orchestrated a UH defense that only allowed 17 shot attempts on the week. The San Diego, Calif. native becomes the first UH goalkeeper since 2019 to record three straight shutout victories.  

  • The redshirt freshman ranks third in the league with a 1.261 GAA and sixth overall with six saves. The three shutouts also account as fourth overall in The Big West.

Freshman of the Week 
Devin Greer, UC Santa Barbara | Freshman • Forward • Sacramento, Calif. 
  • 8134Devin Greer scored the forward’s second Big West Freshman of the Week award of the year (Sept. 2) following a multi-goal performance to start the action last week for UC Santa Barbara.     

  • The Sacramento, Calif. Native notched a brace in the Gauchos 3-1 triumph over Long Beach State. Greer gathered the equalizer for UCSB in the 14th minute to knot the match at one all. From there, Greer put an exclamation point on the game at 82:43 mark to secure the 3-1 score.  

  • Overall, Greer leads all freshman in The Big West with five total tallies while also sitting atop UCSB scores and points (10). The Gauchos have not suffered a setback in league play, with a record of 4-0-1.
