Long Beach State's Aboubacar Traore Takes Home Weekly Honor

  • 22178Long Beach State forward Aboubacar Traore averaged 22.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.0 steals and 2.5 blocks per game in two wins to earn The Big West Player of the Week award. It is the first career weekly honor from the conference for Traore. 

  • The junior shot a combined 70.4 percent (19-of-27) from the field in the two victories.

  • The forward scored a game- and career-high 30 points, on 14-of-17 shooting, along with eight rebounds, two assists, three steals and a block in Thursday’s 89-82 road victory over Cal Poly. 

  • The Ivory Coast native recorded a double-double, compiling 14 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, one steal and four blocks in an 83-75 home win over UC Riverside.

  • Long Beach State is currently 11-5 overall with a 3-1 conference record. Traore ranks top 10 in the league in four major statistics averaging 7.9 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 2.1 steals and 1.9 blocks, to go along with 12.9 points per game.
