Elijah Pepper of UC Davis Scores Fourth Career Player of the Week Honor

  • 8137UC Davis guard Elijah Pepper averaged 20.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game in two wins to earn The Big West Player of the Week award. It is Pepper's fourth career weekly honor, having won it once in each of the last three seasons (Feb. 15, 2021, Dec. 6, 2021, Dec. 19, 2022). It is the second time this season that an Aggie has won the weekly accolade after Ty Johnson was bestowed the award on Dec. 18. 

  • The senior scored a game-high 27 points, going a perfect 10-for-10 from the charity stripe, to go along with 10 rebounds for a double-double in Thursday’s 67-65 road victory over Cal State Fullerton. 

  • Pepper surpassed the 2,000 career points total in a 54-52 home triumph against UC Irvine on Saturday. The Aggie leader gave a 14 point-performance and pitched in five rebounds. The Aggies took pole position in the conference standings after downing the Anteaters who came into the matchup in first place with an unbeaten conference record. 

  • Pepper currently has 2,010 career points, the fifth most in the history of The Big West. 

  • UC Davis is currently 12-7 overall and in first in The Big West standings with a 7-1 conference record. The Selah, Wash. product is currently leading the league in scoring, averaging 21.5 points per game, to go along with 4.8 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.5 steals per contest.
