UC Irvine's Amare and Vogtmann Claim Cross Country Weekly Honors

Men's Athlete of the Week
Lukas Amare, UC Irvine | Junior • Diamond Bar, Calif.

UC Irvine's Lukas Amare placed 16th overall, 12th among collegiate runners, at the UC Riverside Invitational. Amare was the top Big West finisher in the race.
The Diamond Bar, Calif. native completed the 8K course with a time of 24:09.5. It is the fastest 8K time in The Big West this season so far.
UC Irvine finished seventh out of 22 teams with 200 points.

Women's Athlete of the Week
Anna Vogtmann, UC Irvine | Junior • Folsom, Calif.

UC Irvine's Anna Vogtmann led UC Irvine with a career-best third-place individual finish at the UC Riverside Invitational. Vogtmann was the fastest Big West runner in the competition.
The junior finished the 6K course with a time of 20:19.0, passing eight indivudals in the final 2K. It currently stands as the best 6K time in The Big West this season.
As a team, UC Irvine was fourth out of 18 squads with 119 points.
