Titans' Duo Raibon, Ranson, and Cal Poly's Moness Collect Women's Soccer Weekly Awards

 
Offensive Player of the Week 
Kaylin Raibon, Cal State Fullerton | Sophomore • Defender • Laguna Niguel, Calif. 
  • 27265Cal State Fullerton sophomore defender Kaylin Raibon scored Cal State Fullerton's two tallies this week to claim Big West Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. This is Ranson's second career Player of the Week honor, earning Freshman of the Week distinction a year ago in 2022 (Oct. 10, 2022). 

  • Raibon converted on a corner kick sent in by teammate Isabella Cruz to give the home team a 1-0 advantage in the 56th minute of the match and clinch Cal State Fullerton's first victory of the year in front of the Titan crowd.  

  • The sophomore came up clutch once again the following match converting a hard kicked blast from the penalty strike during the 75th minute to escape the Bay Area with another dub on the week, this time against Cal. Raibon's four goals account for the most on Cal State Fullerton and currently tied for second place amongst all Big West student-athletes.

Defensive Player of the Week 
Mia Ranson, Cal State Fullerton | Redshirt-Sophomore • Goalkeeper • Oxnard, Calif. 
  • 27265Cal State Fullerton redshirt-sophomore goalkeeper Mia Ranson was rewarded for her two shutouts this weekend with Big West Defensive Player of the Week accolades. This is Ranson's fourth career Big West Player of the Week honor, earning Freshman of the Week once (Aug. 22, 2022), and Defensive Player of the Week recognition twice in 2022 (Aug. 29, 2022), (Sept. 5, 2022). 

  • Ranson rejected the only two San Diego shots faced on goal to help secure the Titans' first victory of the 2023 campaign. On the road against Cal, Ranson collected six saves en route to an undefeated weekend for Cal State Fullerton and company. The Titans held the Golden Bears to their lowest-scoring output at home this season during the 1-0 triumph. 

  • Currently, Ranson leads The Big West with three clean sheets and also leads the league in save percentage (.816).

Freshman of the Week 
Sophia Moness, Cal Poly | Freshman • Midfielder • El Dorado Hills, Calif. 
  • 8038Cal Poly freshman midfielder Sophia Moness participated in 159 minutes of action during the Mustang's two contests against the 24th and eighth-ranked teams in the nation, respectively. This is Moness's first career Big West Player of the Week honor.

  • Moness had an early scoring opportunity against No. 24 Gonzaga after the freshman steered a solid header on frame in the 15th minute of action, but could not quite convert. Cal Poly recorded five shots on goal against a stifling Bulldog's back line.    

  • During the El Dorado Hills native's third straight start and sixth career appearance for the Mustangs, Moness scored the game-tying tally in Sunday's 1-1 home draw against No. 8 Santa Clara. The goal goes down in the books as Moness's first collegiate score. The Freshman of the Week's 21st-minute strike allowed Cal Poly to secure its first draw against a Top-10 nationally ranked opponent since Sept. 24, 2015.
