Long Beach State senior forward Elysia Laramie totaled fives tallies in two matches on opening weekend and helped the Beach to a 1-1 split to start the 2023 season.

The sixth year senior found the back of the net once and also notched an assist in Long Beach's hard fought opening match versus No. 15 Texas. In the 56th minute, Laramie gave the Beach the go-ahead goal at the time, 3-2, before falling to the Longhorns.

Laramie accounted for all four goals by the Beach versus Boston College, qualifying for the most goals in a single-game in program history. Prior to the four-goal performance, the forward's previous career high for goals in a contest was two back on 10/3/2019 against Cal Poly.
- Larmaie's eleven point performance last week earned her recogintion as the National Player of the Week.

UC Davis senior goalkeeper Caeley Goldstein propelled the Aggies to a 2-0 opening week by recording consecutive clean sheets versus Idaho State and Sacramento State. Caeley Goldstien

Limiting Idaho State to just eight total shots, the senior goalkeeper stopped the one shot she faced on goal in the second half of action as UC Davis secured a dominating 5-0 shutout win.

Goldstein gathered two saves in 35:22 of action en route of the Aggies second shutout victory of the young season.

This marks Goldstein's third career weekly defensive honor, also earning acclaim twice in 2022 (Aug. 22, Oct. 28).

UC Santa Barbara freshman forward Olivia Howard netted the first goal of her colligate career in the Gauchos 2-0 win on opening day.

The true freshman opened up the scoring in the 45th minute, finding the back of the net with just one second left on the clock before halftime. Howard also recorded an assist on the teams second goal.

Howard's three points place first on the Gauchos.
