• Myka Sutherlin was great yet again as Cal State Fullerton swept UC Santa Barbara at home to take sole posession of first place, picking up a league-best fifth Big West Pitcher of the Week honor and third in a row.
• Sutherlin (15-7) started two games in the circle for the Titans and gave up just one run in 13.0 innings of work with 18 strikeouts and allowing five hits and six walks.
• The fifth-year senior right-hander first fanned 14 on Friday, going a complete seven innings and giving up just three hits and two walks for one run. It was the first run that Sutherlin had allowed in 29.2 innings as Cal State Fullerton came away with a 7-1 win.
• Sutherlin went 6.0 innings, allowed only two hits and compiled four strikeouts as the Titans were triumphant 5-0.
• Cal State Fullerton is 27-6 overall and leading The Big West with a 14-4 conference record. Sutherlin has a 15-7 pitching record on the season, boasting a 1.46 ERA with 185 strikeouts in 149.0 innings of work.
• Sutherlin’s prior awards this season came on Feb. 13, Feb. 27, April 10 and April 17. The product of Gilbert, Ariz., is a eight-time career recipient with three selections in 2022.

• Deshea Hill slashed .857/.800/1.857 to lead Cal State Fullerton to a 3-0 series win to earn The Big West Field Player of the Week recognition. It is the third time that Hill has won the weekly honor, the last time coming in 2018.
• Hill was unable to reach base only once, going 6-for-7 with two walks and one sacrifice fly in 10 plate appearances in the three-game series against UC Santa Barbara. The senior compiled seven RBIs and one run.
• The Carlsbad, Calif. native went 2-for-2 with three RBI, one run and one home run as the Titans won game one 7-1. Hill went 2-for-2 with three RBI in game two's 11-1 five-inning win. The senior went 2-for-3 with one RBI as the Titans won the series finale 5-0.

Softball Freshman of the Week

• Hailey Mulligan aided UC San Diego to a 2-1 road series win to earn The Big West Freshman of the Week award. Mulligan is a first-time weekly honoree.
• The freshman batted .444 (4-for-9) and boasted an on-base percentage of .500 in the three-game series at UC Davis.
• Mulligan went a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate in the second game of the series on Saturday.
• In the rubber match game of the series on Sunday, Mulligan batted in a run to tie the game. The shortstop scored a run in the bottom of the seventh to send the game into extras. The Tritons won the finale 4-3 and took the series.
