• Cal State Fullerton ace Myka Sutherlin twirled a no-hitter among three starts in a come-from-behind series victory at home over CSUN for a league-leading third Big West Pitcher of the Week nod.
• Sutherlin (11-7) went 2-1 for the set, with the five-inning no-hitter in Saturday’s finale (8-0) going down as the 58th in program history and second of the fifth-year senior right-hander’s college career. Sutherlin issued a lone walk (full count) to lead off the fifth and break up the perfect game, facing one batter over the minimum. Among nine strikeouts in the contest, Sutherlin fanned CSUN in order in the first.
• Sutherlin had already tossed 4.2 frames of shutout softball (2 H, BB) with seven strikeouts to begin the Saturday doubleheader as the Titans took a 7-1 decision.
• A second-year transfer from Pacific, Sutherlin totaled 14.0 innings pitched against the Matadors, allowing four runs, all in Friday’s 5-2 loss, on eight hits and three walks, while striking out 20. Saturday’s final effort also was a ninth complete game and fifth shutout for 2023.
• Sutherlin’s prior awards this season came on Feb. 13 and Feb. 27. The native of Gilbert, Ariz., is a six-time career recipient with three distinctions in 2022 as well.

• Izabella Martinez led Hawai’i to a series victory at Cal Poly, batting .700 (7-for-10) with a double, home run, run scored, two RBI and a walk, and picked up a first Big West Field Player of the Week award.
• Martinez went 3-for-4 in Friday’s opener, a come-from-behind 4-2 Rainbow Wahine victory, driving in the final run of the contest with a first-pitch, opposite-field single through the left side in the fifth. The Garden Grove native’s fifth home run of the year, a solo shot pulled to right center to ignite a decisive five-run fourth, opened the scoring in Saturday’s first game, which ended 5-1 in UH’s favor to clinch the set.
• Martinez wrapped up the Saturday doubleheader by going a perfect 3-for-3 with a double in a 7-0 loss to the Mustangs, improving the true sophomore’s season batting average to .373. The pair of three-hit efforts coming on consecutive days were the first of Martinez’s college career.
• Starting all three games behind the plate, Martinez handled all nine defensive chances cleanly through seven putouts and two assists.
• Martinez gives UH two Big West Field Player of the Week selections for 2023, after Mya’Liah Bethea on Feb. 20.

• First-time Big West Freshman of the Week Jazzy Santos aided league co-leader UC Santa Barbara to a weekend sweep at CSU Bakersfield.
• The true freshman out of Stanton and 2022 graduate of Los Alamitos High School went 3-for-7 (.429) with one run, a double, two RBI, three walks, and an on-base percentage of .636 from the cleanup spot.
• Santos was 2-for-3 with a run, double, RBI and a walk in the nightcap of Saturday’s doubleheader, a 10-6 Gaucho victory. The RBI double broke a 3-3 tie in the fifth.
• Santos started all three games at second base and handled all 11 defensive chances cleanly with eight putouts and three assists. UCSB (22-11, 9-3 Big West) has won a season-high eight in a row.
• Santos is the Gauchos’ second Big West Freshman of the Week for 2023, following pitcher Malaya Johnson on March 27.
