Natalie Glenn (So., Southlake, Texas) & Megan Widener (So., Carlsbad, Calif.), Long Beach State    Beach Volleyball Pairs Team of the Week

• The Long Beach State duo of Natalie Glenn and Megan Widener earned Big West Pairs Team of the Week after helping the team to a pair of home victories.  

• Glenn and Widener recorded a straight-set victory on Court 3 as the Beach downed No. 18 Pepperdine 3-2. The 21-17, 21-16 point in favor of LBSU was the clincher in the match. 

• Remaining at the 3s for a dual against Cal State LA, the sophomore tandem again claimed the victory in impressive fashion, with set scores of 21-6 and 21-6. Finishing third in the 5-0 sweep of the Golden Eagles, Glenn and Widener secured the deciding point in both matchups. 

• The duo has been nearly unbeatable since being partnered up, owning a 12-1 record this season. The only blemish was in a 3-2 loss to No. 10 Stanford on March 31 in a three-set match that needed extra points in the second frame to decide the outcome. 

• For Glenn, it is a second career honor, opening the 2023 campaign with the weekly award with partner Maggie Walters on Feb. 27. This marks Widener’s first distinction.
