UC San Diego guard/forward Aniwaniwa Tait-Jones collects Big West Player of the Week honors after averaging 17.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 6.5 assists, a block and a steal in two home wins against Denver and San Diego. It is Tait-Jones' first career weekly honor from the conference.

The junior transfer shot a combined 52.4 percent (11-of-21) from the floor and 81.3 percent (13-of-16) from the charity stripe in the two victories.

Tait-Jones had a near triple-double in the Tritons' 95-87 season-opening win over Denver on Monday, amassing 14 points, 10 rebounds, nine assists, one block and two steals.
- The Wellington, New Zealand product compiled 21 points, on 8-of-11 shooting, eight rebounds, four assists and a block as UC San Diego defeated local rival University of San Diego 69-63 Saturday night. It was the 800th win in Triton program history.
