Spectrum SportsNet Partners with The Big West to Televise 15 Basketball Games in 2023-24

IRVINE, Calif. - The Big West announced a slate of 15 men’s and women’s basketball contests to air on Spectrum SportsNet during the 2023-24 season.

Now in its third season, Big West Basketball on Spectrum SportsNet has every Big West men’s basketball team in action at least once alongside a slate of five women’s games featuring eight squads. The Spectrum SportsNet package debuts Saturday, December 30 when new head coach Andy Newman leads his CSUN Matadors against Long Beach State in a 1:00 p.m. tipoff from Walter Pyramid.

UC Davis’ Elijah Pepper, the nation’s 4th leading scorer a year ago, stars in the first of three scheduled double-headers on Saturday, January 6 when UC Davis’ men’s squad travels to the Bren Events Center on the campus  with UC Irvine for a 1:00 p.m. showdown. The women’s version of that same matchup follows at 3:00p.m. when 2023 All-Big West first teamer Evanne Turner leads the Aggies against UC Irvine’s all-conference honoree Nikki Tom.

Games featuring other returning Big West stars include a matchup on Thursday, January 18 when Long Beach State’s top rebounding tandem, Lassina and Aboubacar Traore host University of Hawai’i and Hawai’i guard JoVon McClanahan. McClanahan earned second team All-Big West honors in 2023. Fans can see returning Big West Player of the Year, UCSB’s Ajay Mitchell on Saturday, January 20th when he leads the Gauchos against Cal State Fullerton in a rematch of last year’s Big West Men’s Championship Final. The package concludes with the two-time defending Big West Women’s Champions, the Hawai’i Rainbow Wahine and their all-conference duo of Daejah Phillips and Lily Wahinekapu traveling to Long Beach State on February 24.
