- Two-time Big West Offensive Player of the Week Hilir Henno averaged 6.07 points, 4.43 kills, 1.71 digs and 1.29 aces per set while hitting at a .473 (31-5-55) clip as No. 7 UC Irvine returned from Provo, Utah, with a 2-0 mark from a pair of neutral-site affairs.
- The sophomore opposite hitter first had 18 kills, a match-high five aces, four digs, three set assists and two block assists in a come-from-behind four-set victory over then-14th-ranked Lewis on Friday.
- Against McKendree Saturday, Henno added match highs of 13 kills, eight digs (tied) and four aces with a career-best .500 (13-1-24) attack rate and two total blocks (one solo). Henno’s nine aces over seven sets make it 54 service winners over the lefty’s one-plus collegiate seasons.
- Henno is now an eight-time Big West weekly award recipient. In a debut season of college volleyball in 2022, the native of Pornichet, France, was The Big West Offensive Player of the Week (Jan. 17) and Defensive Player of the Week (Jan. 10) once each, and the Freshman of the Week on five occasions.

Men's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week

- Cole Power led No. 7 UC Irvine’s defense by averaging 2.00 digs per set as the Anteaters posted a pair of neutral-site victories to begin their 2023 season on the BYU campus in Provo, Utah, earning the libero a first Big West Defensive Player of the Week award.
- Power logged a team-best eight digs to share the match high in Friday’s come-from-behind, four-set triumph over No. 14 Lewis. The fourth-year senior then provided six more digs in Saturday’s sweep against McKendree. Power added three set assists in each contest, and boasted a stellar service reception rate of .971, with a single error in 34 attempts.
- A Huntington Beach native out of Edison High School and second-year transfer from UCLA, Power appeared in all 27 matches for UCI in a debut season in 2022, reached double-digit digs seven times, and placed fourth in The Big West with a digs-per-set average of 1.92.

- UC San Diego’s new primary libero, Evan Boyle, averaged 1.85 digs per set during his college debut as the Tritons went 1-2 at the season-opening Asics Invitational in Santa Barbara, and grabbed Big West Freshman of the Week honors.
- The true freshman out of La Crescenta and Crescenta Valley High School totaled 24 digs and seven reception errors, good for an .899 percentage. Boyle twice reached double figures in digs, with 10 in a five-set victory over Lincoln Memorial in his first collegiate action on Thursday, and 10 again two days later in a 3-2 defeat to No. 10 USC.
- Boyle added four assists against the Railsplitters and three against the Trojans, and in between had four digs in a 3-0 loss to No. 2 UCLA.
- Boyle took over the libero position in La Jolla from graduated senior Matt Palma, a 2022 All-Big West First Team selection. Current teammate Matthew Lim was the last Triton to earn the league’s weekly rookie award, on Feb. 21, 2022.
