Onye Ofoegbu, UC Irvine  Women's Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week  Junior • Middle Blocker • Cerritos, Calif.

• After a tournament MVP weekend, UC Irvine’s Onye Ofoegbu has been tapped as Big West Offensive Player of the Week. The award is the second of the middle blocker’s career, also earning distinction Sept. 13, 2021. 

• Ofoegbu averaged 4.11 kills, 1.78 blocks and 5.33 points per set as the Anteaters dispatched a trio of opponents in straight sets at the adidas/UCI Invitational. The Cerritos, Calif., native hit .492 in the nine sets played in the tournament. 

• Highlighting the weekend, the junior put away a season-high 18 kills on .571 hitting (18-2-28) to go along with five blocks and an ace as UC Irvine handed Dartmouth their first loss of the season.  

• This is the first time UC Irvine has won its home tournament since its start in 2018.

Amber Igiede, Hawai'i  Women's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week  Junior • Middle Blocker • Baton Rouge, La.

• Amber Igiede led Hawai’i to a 2-1 record over the weekend to scoop up Big West Defensive Player of the Week honors. This is Igiede’s second career weekly defensive award and fourth overall Big West weekly nod. 

• Hailing from Baton Rouge, La., Igiede was big at the net with 23 total blocks, including six solo stuffs, averaging 2.09 blocks per set.  

• Igiede posted nine blocks and a career-high tying three solos in a sweep against West Virginia. In Sunday’s five-set loss to No. 23 UCLA, the middle blocker tied a career high with 10 total blocks.  

• Also an offensive force for the Rainbow Wahine, Igiede hit .449 with 47 kills on the week, or 4.27 per set. Igiede recorded double-digit kills in each match and recorded her third career kills-blocks double-double to cap the weekend.

Zayna Meyer, Long Beach State  Women's Volleyball Setter of the Week  Redshirt Freshman • Setter  • Wheaton, Ill.

• Zayna Meyer picked up her second consecutive Big West Setter of the Week award, tacking on two double-doubles to her tally in a pair of Beach victories. 
• ?The setter from Wheaton, Ill., recorded 44 assists and 12 digs in a four-set victory over Boise State, while adding six kills on .364 hitting and four blocks against the Broncos. 
• Meyer added 32 assists and 17 digs along with five blocks and four kills in a sweep of Notre Dame to close out the weekend. On the year, the redshirt freshman has now logged five double-doubles in as many contests.  
• Meyer is currently leading The Big West averaging 10.10 assists per set,

Caylen Alexander, Hawai'i  Women's Volleyball Freshman of the Week  Freshman • Outside Hitter  •Alpharetta, Ga.

• Hawai’i freshman outside hitter Caylen Alexander picked Big West Freshman of the Week honors after notching a career-first double-double against No. 23 UCLA.  

• The native of Alpharetta, Ga., finished the five-setter with career bests of 18 kills and 11 digs in the match against the Bruins, hitting .282 while adding an ace and two blocks. 

•  For the weekend, Alexander tallied 31 kills, 18 digs, three blocks and two service aces as the Rainbow Wahine went 2-1 with wins over Texas State and West Virginia.
