Lena Silano, Long Beach State  Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week  Senior • Forward • Agoura Hills, Calif.

• Senior Lena Silano totaled three goals in an undefeated week for Long Beach State to earn Big West Offensive Player of the Week honors for the second time in her career (Oct. 4, 2021). 

• Silano scored the game-winner against Fresno State on Thursday punching in the penalty kick in the 17th minute to open up the 4-0 victory. 

• Against San Diego, Silano netted both Beach goals on the night, including a picturesque bicycle kick for the strike in the 88th minute to knot the score at two apiece. 

• The Agoura Hills, Calif., native ranks as The Big West’s leading scorer with five goals and 11 points this season. The total goal tally is eighth nationally and the 0.83 goals per game average stands in 20th.

Mia Ranson, Cal State Fullerton  Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week  Redshirt Freshman • Goalkeeper • Oxnard, Calif.

• Cal State Fullerton’s Mia Ranson helped the Titans to a successful road trip to the state of Utah to earn back-to-back Big West Defensive Player of the Week honors. Coupled with Freshman of the Week acclaim in the first week of the season, Ranson now has three career weekly awards. 
• ?The redshirt freshman recorded six saves and picked up the clean sheet at Utah as the Titans won the 1-0 affair. 
• Against Southern Utah, the goalkeeper added four saves and allowed one goal as Cal State Fullerton won 2-1. Heading into the contest, Southern Utah was ranked third in the country with 22 goals on the season, or 4.4 goals per game.  
• Ranson’s 0.885 save percentage currently leads The Big West and rates 37th nationally.

Cherrie Cox, Long Beach State  Women’s Soccer Freshman of the Week  Freshman • Midfielder • Torrance, Calif.

• Freshman Cherrie Cox picked up Big West Freshman of the Week honors after netting a goal and tallying three points on the weekend.  

• Cox scored her first collegiate goal in Long Beach State’s 4-0 win over Fresno State. The score was the capper against the Bulldogs, coming in the 84th minute of the match.  

• The midfielder from Torrance, Calif., added an assist against San Diego as the Beach were the first to strike in the 2-2 tie after Cox set up Offensive Player of the Week Lena Silano for the strike in the 25th minute.
