Megan Day, Cal State Fullerton  Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week  Junior • Defender • La Mirada, Calif.

• Cal State Fullerton’s Megan Day scored two goals as the Titans picked up a pair of victories to open Big West play and nab Offensive Player of the Week acclaim.  

• The center back scored a brace against the UC San Diego in a 3-0 home victory Sunday. Both connections were on back-to-back headers off corner kicks.  

• The two shots – and goals – were the first of the season for Day, and the game-winner is the first in her career as a Titan.  

• This marks Day’s second career weekly honor, but the first of the offensive variety. The La Mirada, Calif., native earned defensive recognition Oct. 14, 2019.

Meghan Schroh  Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week  Junior • Defender • Carlsbad, Calif.

• Meghan Schroh played a part in all three goals Cal State Fullerton scored in Sunday’s shutout against UC San Diego to pick up Big West Defensive Player of the Week, her first career weekly honor. 

• The center back got two assists off two corner kicks in successive fashion, linking up with Big West Offensive Player of the Week Megan Day for both.  

• The junior from Carlsbad scored the final goal of the match directly from a corner kick as the bending shot curled into the net above the Triton keeper.  

• Schroh also led the Titans backline in keeping a clean sheet against the Tritons and piloted the defensive efforts in Cal State Fullerton’s 2-1 road victory at CSUN on Thursday.

Amber Gilbert, Hawai'i  Women’s Soccer Freshman of the Week  Redshirt Freshman • Forward • Honolulu, Hawai'i

• Amber Gilbert recorded her third goal of the season for Hawai’i to earn Big West Freshman of the Week. This marks Gilbert’s second weekly freshman honor of the year.  

• In Sunday's 2-2 draw at Cal Poly, the forward from Honolulu netted the Rainbow Wahine’s second goal of the game coming in the seventh minute. The redshirt freshman chased down a long ball from Eliza Ammendolia, beating her defender and finishing past the Cal Poly keeper at the 6:43 mark.  

• The score was the third of the season for the forward. She leads all freshmen in The Big West in total points with eight and is second on the team in both goals and points.
