Aguilar Wins Second Weekly Honor of Season Alongside Two First-Timers

29651• UC Santa Barbara sophomore forward Salvador Aguilar compiled one goal and one assist to be named The Big West Offensive Player of the Week. It is the third time the San Simeon, Calif. has won the award after earning the weekly honor once last season and once earlier this year. 

• In the only game of the week against GCU on Saturday, Aguilar got the assist on a Gaucho score in the first half and then scored the equalizing goal in the 88th minute.

Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week 
Graduate Student • Goalkeeper • Santa Clara, Calif.
 
29653• UC San Diego graduate goalkeeper Dominic Peters totaled 19 saves and a shutout to win The Big West Defensive Player of the Week award. 

• On Thursday against crosstown foe San Diego, Peters accumulated a career- and season-high 12 saves, four away from the school record. The Tritons drew with the Toreros 0-0.  

• The goalkeeper from Santa Clara, Calif. compiled seven saves at Gonzaga, Sunday.

Men’s Soccer Freshman of the Week 
Freshman • Forward • Stockholm, Sweden 
29655• UC Irvine freshman forward Agaton Pourshahidi scored a goal to earn The Big West Freshman of the Week honor. 

• After playing 44 minutes against Saint Mary's on Monday, and 36 minutes at New Hampshire on Friday, both off the bench, the rookie got the start against Vermont on Sunday. Pourshahidi made the most of the opportunity and scored a goal.
