Noah Zamora, UC Irvine
Men's Tennis Player of the Week
Freshman • San Diego, Calif. |

- Noah Zamora won both his singles and doubles matches as UC Irvine rallied from a 2-0 deficit to get past UC Davis, 4-2, on the road in Big West action last Saturday.
- The true freshman out of San Diego paired with veteran Emmanuel Coste to edge Andrei Volgin and Mitchell Davis at No. 1 doubles, 6-4. The host Aggies ultimately grabbed the doubles point through the No. 2 court, however, but Zamora then came back to defeat Ryan Morgan at No. 3 singles, 4-6, 6-4, 6-2, for his third match-clinching win of 2022.
- UC Irvine improved to 13-6 overall, including 3-2 in The Big West as the ‘Eaters sit in fourth place heading into this Sunday’s regular-season finale at home against 72nd-ranked and second-placed Hawai’i.
- Zamora moved to 10-2 in dual-match singles, becoming the first ‘Eater with double-digit dual victories. He is 4-4 in dual-match doubles. Saturday marked his first career Big West doubles triumph after the first four contests with Coste had gone unfinished.
- This is Zamora’s first Big West Player of the Week distinction. He is the second Anteater to earn selection in 2022, after nationally-ranked singles teammate and doubles partner Coste back on Jan. 26.
