- Redshirt sophomore opposite hitter Dimitrios Mouchlias guided fourth-ranked reigning national champion Hawai’i to a road sweep at No. 14 UC Irvine, averaging 6.56 points, 5.50 kills, 1.13 blocks, 1.00 digs and 0.38 aces per set while attacking at a .486 (44-8-74) clip.
- Mouchlias’ match- and career-high 31 kills in Saturday night’s five-set triumph, during which the Rainbow Warriors overturned a pair of one-set deficits, marked the only 30-kill performance in The Big West this season. The 31 kills came on .510 (31-6-49) hitting, and he added five blocks to match his career best, four digs and two aces for a match- and career-best 35.5 total points. The 49 attacks were also a career high.
- In Friday’s sweep, Mouchlias had a team-high 13 kills on .440 (13-2-25) hitting, to go alongside four total blocks (match-best two solo) to share the match high, four digs and another ace for a team-best 17 points.
- Mouchlias enters the postseason on a season-best run of four straight contests with double-figure kills. He has 13 such efforts in 2022, with a prior high of 21 on Jan. 31 before Saturday’s outburst. The 31 kills are tied with five others for the fourth-best single-match output nationally.
- This is Mouchlias’ second Big West Offensive Player of the Week selection, with the previous one coming back on Feb. 7.

Men's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week

- Donovan Todorov led No. 6 UC Santa Barbara to a pair of road victories during the last week of the regular season. The 6-foot-6 third-year sophomore middle blocker averaged 1.57 blocks, 1.29 kills, 2.07 points and 0.57 digs per set.
- Friday night in a non-conference sweep at Concordia Irvine, Todorov had three block assists and a pair of digs, adding two kills on five swings without an error (.400) offensively.
- Saturday in his hometown during a four-set decision at No. 9 UC San Diego to complete the Gauchos’ series sweep over the Tritons, Todorov added a match-high eight total blocks (all assisted), one shy of his career best. He also contributed seven kills and two digs to total 11 points.
- Saturday’s win in La Jolla earned the No. 3 seed for UC Santa Barbara over UC San Diego at this week’s OUTRIGGER Big West Men’s Volleyball Championship, presented by The Hawaiian Islands. The Gauchos will head to Honolulu, Hawai’i, as reigning champions.
- Todorov winds up the 2022 campaign as a two-time Big West Defensive Player of the Week, having also been chosen back on Jan. 31. He breaks a run of four straight Long Beach State selections.

Men's Volleyball Freshman of the Week

- Hilir Henno returned to the starting lineup and was a key player for No. 14 UC Irvine in two home losses to fourth-ranked reigning national champion Hawai’i over the final weekend of the 2022 regular season.
- In Friday’s straight-set defeat, the opposite hitter from France collected a match-high 10 digs and just missed his fifth double-double with nine kills, three set assists and a service ace for 10 total points. It was his fifth contest with double-digit digs.
- Saturday night in a five-set thriller, Henno reached double figures in kills for the 15th time, putting down 15 alongside a match-high four aces (two short of season best) while sharing the team high of seven digs. He also had a pair of block assists and two set assists, totaling 20 points.
- For the weekend, Henno averaged 3.75 points, 3.00 kills, 2.13 digs and 0.63 aces per set. He continues to lead the team with 41 aces on the year.
- Henno finishes as a five-time Freshman of the Week (Jan. 10, Jan. 17, Feb. 14, March 14), in addition to one Offensive (Jan. 17) and one Defensive (Jan. 10) Player of the Week distinction to show for his first season of college volleyball.
