- Elizaveta Volodko was undefeated across singles and doubles on the weekend while leading No. 25 UC Santa Barbara to a pair of wins in Texas against nationally-ranked Big 12 Conference foes.
- Volodko went 2-0 at No. 2 singles, defeating Texas Tech’s Olivia Peet, 6-1, 7-6(2), on Friday, and TCU’s Mercedes Aristegui in come-from-behind fashion, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3, on Sunday.
- The graduate student also went 2-0 at No 1 doubles with partner Shakhnoza Khatamova, topping Texas Tech’s Skriabina/Tiglea (6-2) and TCU’s Cveticanin/Kennedy (6-3).
- Volodko helped lead her Gauchos to team wins against both the 34th-ranked Lady Raiders and then-71st-ranked Horned Frogs, each by the score of 5-2.
- UCSB has now garnered five of the eight Big West weekly awards for 2022. Volodko is a three-time honoree for her career with prior selections on April 9, 2019, and April 21, 2021. She is the fourth different Gaucho to earn distinction this year.
