Noah Berry, Cal Poly
Men's Tennis Player of the Week
Sophomore • Bellaire, Texas |

- Sophomore Noah Berry aided No. 63 Cal Poly to a dramatic 4-3 victory at No. 75 Hawai’i in its Big West opener last Thursday afternoon, March 24, as the Mustangs improved to 10-4 on the season overall while snapping the Rainbow Warriors’ longest win streak in over 20 years at eight consecutive matches.
- The native Texan first teamed up with Fernando Fonseca to defeat Blaz Seric and Kilian Maitre at No. 3, 6-2, to clinch the doubles point.
- At No. 1 singles, Berry rallied past No. 20 Andre Ilagan, the winner of the previous two Big West Player of the Week awards, 2-6, 6-3, 6-1. The result clinched the team victory after Cal Poly had dropped the first two singles points and thus came back from 2-1 down on the day to win it.
- The 2021 Big West Freshman of the Year is a first-time Big West Player of the Week, and the first Cal Poly men’s honoree for 2022. Berry is now 9-4 in singles this season and 8-2 with Fonseca in doubles as winners of six straight.
