Spencer Olivier, Long Beach State  Men's Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week  Junior • Outside Hitter • Tustin, Calif.

• Outside hitter Spencer Olivier led No. 3 Long Beach State to a comfortable sweep over visiting Concordia Irvine on Friday night.
• The 6-foot-6 product of Tustin led all players with 16 kills and a career-high-tying .556 (16-1-27) hitting clip. He added one set assist, one block assist and four digs, totaling 16.5 points for the Beach.
• The fifth-year junior now has nine double-digit kill performances on the year, including three in a row, and 26 for his college career. He is one of five Beach players to start all 15 matches this season.
• This is the second Big West weekly recognition for Olivier. He was also the Offensive Player of the Week on March 29, 2021.
• Long Beach State (12-3, 1-1 Big West) takes its two-match win streak into its home-and-home Big West series with No. 6 UC Santa Barbara this Friday night inside the Walter Pyramid.

Aidan Knipe, Long Beach State  Men's Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week  Sophomore • Setter • Huntington Beach, Calif.

• Long Beach State setter Aidan Knipe posted his first collegiate double-double in Friday night’s home sweep over Concordia Irvine, finishing with 42 assists, a career-high 10 digs and one block assist.
• Alongside his defensive work, the redshirt sophomore out of Huntington Beach set the Beach to a .320 team hitting percentage.
• Knipe has started all 14 matches he has played in during this 2022 campaign, and reached the 40-assist mark seven times this season and 10 for his career. In addition to his 533 assists, he is third on the team with 70 digs and sixth with 27 total blocks.
• The son of 19th-year Long Beach State head coach Alan Knipe was previously The Big West Freshman of the Week on March 22, 2021, following his college debut.

Alex Nikolov, Long Beach State  Men's Volleyball Freshman of the Week  Freshman • Outside Hitter • Sofia, Bulgaria

• Freshman outside hitter Alex Nikolov joined his setter, Aidan Knipe, in producing his first collegiate double-double during No. 3 Long Beach State’s home sweep over Concordia Irvine last Friday night.
• Nikolov put down 14 kills on .250 (14-6-32) hitting with match highs of 11 digs, five service aces, three block assists (tied) and 20.5 total points. He reached double digits in digs for the first time, with the five aces equalling his season best.
• Nikolov, like Spencer Olivier, is one of three Beach players to start all 15 contests. He has registered double-figure kill totals in 13 of them, and leads his team in both kills (231) and aces (37), with 21 of those aces coming over the past six matches.
• The native of Sofia, Bulgaria, is now a five-time Big West Freshman of the Week, having earned three prior awards consecutively beginning Jan. 24, and another on March 7. Nikolov was also the Offensive Player of the Week on Jan. 24.
