  • Fourth-year junior Andre Ilagan led Hawai’i to the team title at the Golden State Invitational as the Rainbow Warriors swept their three matches in Sacramento against Pacific (4-2) on Friday and host Sacramento State (4-2) and Saint Mary’s (4-1) on Saturday. UH thus extended its longest win streak in at least 20 years to seven.
  • Ilagan and doubles partner Karl Collins earned a 6-4 decision at No. 1 over Sacramento State’s previously-unbeaten Mark Keki and Mate Voros, with their other two contests, also at No. 1, going unfinished.
  • The nation’s 17th-ranked singles player did not drop a set over his three matches at No. 1. Ilagan eased past UOP’s Aleska Mardjonovic (6-0, 6-1), Keki (6-2, 7-6(5)), and the Gaels’ James Watt (6-3, 6-1).
  • Ilagan, a Hawaii native, is now a five-time Big West Player of the Week, with previous awards on Feb. 12 and Feb. 26 during the 2020 season, as well as on Feb. 5, 2019, and April 7, 2021.
