IRVINE, Calif. (Feb. 4, 2022) -- #OlympiansMadeHere Former CSUN track & field sprinter Nic Taylor will compete as a member of Team USA in the 2022 Winter Olympics held in Beijing, China as an alternate for the Team USA Bobsled Team.
The 2022 Winter Olympics will be the second Olympiad that Taylor will be participating in. He was a member of the 2018 Team USA Bobsled Team where he was an alternate.
Taylor was a sprinter on the Matador track & field team for two seasons (2009-10) after transferring from City College of San Francisco. He posted lifetime-bests of 10.91 in the 100 and 21.73 in the 200, and was the third leg of the Matador 4x100 relay team that qualified for NCAA Regionals.
After graduating from CSUN in 2010, he started coaching track & field at UCLA. There he met Andreas Drbol, an Austrian athlete who was familiar with bobsledding and winter sports. Taylor initially agreed to coach Drbol in sprinting and six months later they were living together in the Olympic Training Center as members of the United States Bobsled Team. He has one son, Nico, with his wife and fellow bobsled Olympian Elena Meyers Taylor.
