• CSU Bakersfield's No. 4 pair of Anna Unke and Brooke Boiseau went 3-0 on opening weekend to earn the season’s first Big West Beach Volleyball Pairs Team of the Week.  

• The duo swept through matches against NAIA No. 1 Vanguard, 21-9, 21-13 to open the weekend as the `Runners earned the 4-1 team win. Next, they took care of Pacific with tidy set scores of 21-10, 21-8 as CSU Bakersfield swept the Tigers, 5-0. 

• The only set Unke and Boiseau dropped came in the weekend finale against No. 14 Pepperdine. The tandem was nipped in the first 19-21 before coming back to win the final two frames 21-17, 15-7. The team scoring went the way of the Waves, who closed with the 3-2 overall victory in the match. 

• The weekly award is the first for the CSU Bakersfield program.
