UC Santa Barbara senior Shakhnoza Khatamova played to a combined 6-0 record in both No. 1 singles and doubles as the Gauchos extended their team winning streak to four matches over the weekend.  

Khatamova opened the weekend with a 6-4, 2-6, 1-0 (10-6) win over Washington State’s Michaela Bayerlova as UC Santa Barbara recorded a 7-0 victory over the Cougars.  

Sunday, she registered a 6-3, 2-6, 6-1 victory over San Diego’s Solymar Colling, helping the team to the 5-2 win.  

The Fegana City, Uzbekistan, native proved to be the clincher against UC Davis as her 6-3, 6-2 win over Yana Gurevich closed out the Gauchos’ 4-0 decision in their first Big West contest of the spring.   

Playing the week with partner Elizaveta Volodko, the tandem recorded a trio of 6-3 decisions from Court 1.  

This is Khatamova’s fourth career Big West weekly honor, and the second of the 2022 season (Feb. 2).
