Senior outside hitter Brooke Van Sickle helped lead Hawai‘i to a pair of road sweeps at UC Riverside and UC Davis.

She led the Rainbow Wahine hitting .468 on the weekend with 23 kills while recording one lone error in 47 attacks.

At UC Davis, Van Sickle buried a match-high 14 kills while tallying a career-high .609 hitting percentage, while adding 11 digs, four blocks and a service ace. The double-double output was her fourth of the season, and 11th of her career.

Freshman libero Peyton Dueck recorded 43 digs to pace the Cal Poly defense in two road victories to open Big West play.

In a sweep at Long Beach State, the Aptos, Calif., native finished with 15 digs and a service ace. At Cal State Fullerton, Dueck had a career-high 28 digs in a five-set match, bringing her average to 5.38 digs per set on the weekend.

Dueck paces The Big West in total digs (211), her 4.40 digs per set rates second in the conference this season.

Freshman setter Kate Lang got her first two starts of the season and did not disappoint as she led a balanced Hawai’i offensive attack to a .468 hitting percentage for the weekend.

In her first collegiate start at UC Riverside, she distributed her passes effectively with each Rainbow Wahine starting hitter recording at least five kills apiece. She also added a career-high nine digs in the sweep.

Following up her 36-assist performance against the Highlanders, Lang dished out a career-high 38 assists at UC Davis and directed the Hawai’i offense to a season-best .396 hitting percentage in the three-set match.
