Kashauna Williams, Long Beach State   Women’s Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week    Junior • Outside Hitter • Los Angeles

• Kashauna Williams, a junior from Los Angeles averaged a whopping 5.57 kills per set on .338 hitting to help Long Beach State to victories over San Diego State and No. 21 San Diego.  

• The outside hitter knocked down 19 kills against the Aztecs before following it up by a 20-kill performance in the upset of the Toreros. 

• The win over a ranked team is Long Beach State’s first since 2016, and the first of the season for The Big West. 

• Williams leads the league in kills (4.77) and points (5.10) per set, total attacks (459), total kills (205), and total points (219.5). Her total points and kills tallies rate in the top 10 nationally. 

• This is her third weekly honor of the 2021 season, and the fourth of her career (Aug. 30, Sept. 6, Oct. 22, 2018).

Mia Christensen, UC Riverside   Women’s Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week    Sophomore • Libero • Huntington Beach, Calif.

• Libero Mia Christensen averaged 5.1 digs per set at the Wildcat Classic in Tuscon, Ariz., to claim her first set of weekly honors. 

• Christensen’s 32 digs against Texas Southern set a Big West benchmark in total digs in 2021, and rates tied for ninth nationally in digs in a four-set match this season. 

• An academic sophomore, Christensen is playing her first season of collegiate volleyball.

2021 Big West Weekly Award Winners
