- Sophie Gillies captures her first Big West Women’s Soccer Player of the Week award as she helped UC Irvine to a 1-1 split against No. 5 UCLA and Southern Utah.
- The freshman earned five points (two goals, one assist) in two games to start her collegiate career.
- Gillies prevented the Anteaters from being shutout in the season opener, as she scored in the 89th minute, in a loss to 5th-ranked UCLA. She followed that performance with a goal and assist, both in the first half, in a 6-0 triumph over Southern Utah.

- Morgan Houston-Shepherd claims her first Big West Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week honor with a 2-0 shutout against CSUN in a non-conference matchup.
- In her first collegiate start, the redshirt freshman goalkeeper played all 90 minutes, saw five Matador shots and recorded one save.
