Traxler Gives UC San Diego First Men's Tennis Weekly Honoree

• Closing out UC San Diego’s first season at the Division I level is sophomore Daniel Traxler, who earned the program’s first Big West Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week honor.

• Traxler earned a three-set win against UC Riverside’s Gilbert Chung at No. 1 singles. After losing the first set, Traxler dominated the next two sets for a 5-7, 6-1, 6-2 victory.

• Traxler’s win evened the match at 2-2 against the Highlanders.

• It was Traxler’s second singles win this season as the San Diego State transfer finished 2-3 overall.

• At No. 1 doubles, Traxler and partner Zach Ermert fell in a tightly contested battle, 6-4, against UCR’s Jayson Blando and Nolan McCaig.
