MEN'S TENNIS ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

• Earning his third career Big West Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week award – and second this season – senior Alex Stater helped Cal Poly clinch its first conference regular season crown since 2013.
• Stater helped the Mustangs win all three of their league matches against UC San Diego, UC Santa Barbara and UC Riverside as they finished 6-0 in the Big West, the program’s first unbeaten run since 2012.
• The 4-3 win over four-time reigning regular season champ UCSB secured at least a share of the title. Stater posted a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Victor Krustev at No. 1 singles.
• He paired with Gary Vardanyan at No. 3 doubles for two wins, 6-2 over UC San Diego’s Eric Silberman and Marc Isaia, and 6-4 against UCR brother tandem of Jayson Blando and Michael Blando.
• Stater is now 12-4 in singles and 11-3 in doubles this year.
