FIELD PLAYER OF THE WEEK
HAILEY MARTIN, CAL POLY
Senior • 1B • Tracy, Calif. • West HS
 
• Cal Poly's Hailey Martin nearly had a perfect weekend at the plate in four games against Hawai'i, earning her Big West Field Player of the Week honors.
 
• The senior batted a sizzling .923 (12-for-13) against the Rainbow Wahine, missing a perfect batting average by one base hit.
 
• Martin had multiple hits in each game, including a four hit showing in the second game of the series and three hits in game one and in the finale.
 
• The first baseman raised her season average 117 points to .426 and her career average 15 points to .315 after the sensational performance.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
KENEDI BROWN, UC DAVIS

• UC Davis' Kenedi Brown earned her second career Big West Pitcher of the Week award after two impressive complete game wins against UC Riverside.
 
• Brown's first start saw her take a no-hit bid into the sixth, eventually settling for a four-hit, two run (one earned), one walk and nine strikeout performance in the victory.
 
• The Elk Grove native worked a little longer for her second win of the week, going all nine innings in a 2-1 win. She allowed eight hits, one run (earned) and walked one while striking out eight.
 
• Brown held batters to a .203 average and a .271 slugging percentage over her two starts.

FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
MAYA NAKAMURA, HAWAI'I
UTL • Honolulu, O'ahu • Roosevelt HS
 
• Hawai'i's Maya Nakamura won Big West Freshman of the Week accolades after a solid showing at the plate and in the field against Cal Poly.
 
• Nakamura it .467 (7-15) in the four games, collecting two multi-hit games including a three-hit effort in game two.
 
• Among those three hits in game two was a home run that tied the game early in an eventual 11-9 'Bows win.
 
• Nakamura also had four RBI, scored seven runs, posted a .500 on-base percentage and committed only one error in 19 total chances in the field.
