Parapunov Highlights Men's Volleyball Honor Roll With 14th Career Award

• Senior Rado Parapunov becomes a four-time winner of the Big West Men’s Volleyball Player of the Week award after leading Hawai‘i to the conference regular season title.

• The 6-9 opposite added to his Big West record with his 14th career honor, having collected two in 2018, five in 2019 and three in 2020.
 
• Parapunov averaged 4.57 kills, 1.71 digs and 0.71 blocks per set while hitting .362 (32-11-58) overall in a two-match road sweep of CSUN. The two wins gave UH an 8-0 Big West record and outright possession of the championship.

• The native of Bulgaria led the team in kills both nights with 17 on .323 (17-7-31) in the opener and 15 more in the rematch. He swung at a .407 (15-4-27) clip on Saturday.

• Parapunov tallied eight digs with four blocks on Friday and returned with four digs and one block on Saturday.

MEN'S VOLLEYBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

• For the fifth time in 2021, the recipient of the Big West Men’s Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week honor goes to a Hawai‘i representative – this time sophomore Guilherme Voss.

• The 6-7 middle blocker established career-bests in kills and blocks to help the Rainbow Warriors sweep CSUN on  the road. He tallied a career-high eight blocks (one solo) in Friday’s four-set win with a perfect 7-for-7 in kill attempts.

• In Saturday’s three-set triumph, he pounded a career-best nine kills on .667 (9-1-12) hitting efficiency to go along with two digs and three blocks.

• Voss hit a blistering .789 with 16 kills and just one error in 19 attempts for the week. He averaged 2.29 kills and 1.57 blocks per set.

• He contributed to UH’s net effort that helped limit CSUN to .225 hitting over the two matches.

MEN'S VOLLEYBALL FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

• Long Beach State outside hitter Clarke Godbold becomes the second individual in league history to earn three straight Big West Men’s Volleyball Freshman of the Week awards.

• Godbold joins UC Irvine’s Joel Schneidmiller, who accomplished the feat in 2018, on the list.

• He continued his consistent play of late with 18 kills, nine digs, four blocks and two aces in a series sweep of No. 12 UC San Diego.

• Godbold hit .405 (18-3-37) for the week, including 11 kills, four digs and three blocks in Friday’s road win.
