WOMEN'S TENNIS ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

• Earning her first career Big West Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week award is UC Davis sophomore Yana Gurevich, who went unbeaten in singles and doubles play.

• Gurevich posted a 4-0 record in helping the Aggies to identical 4-3 victories over Santa Clara and Cal State Fullerton.

• Gurevich knocked off Santa Clara’s JennaMarie Gordon in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4, at No. 1 singles. Moving down to No. 2 singles, she also handled Cal State Fullerton’s Eira Tobrand by scores of 6-0, 6-4, helping the Aggies win in Fullerton for the first time since 2015.

• The Aggies captured both doubles points in their two wins, and Gurevich with partner Kristina Evloeva took both No. 3 matches, including 6-4 against Santa Clara’s Jamie Schroer and Nadine Del Carmen, and  6-3 over CSF’s Natalie Duffy and Yuseung Suh.
