• CSUN junior Daniel Wetter, the national leader in hitting percentage in 2020, earned his first career Big West Men’s Volleyball Player of the Week award after helping the Matadors split with UC Irvine on the opening weekend of 2021.
• The 6-5 middle blocker hit .667 (24-2-33) over the two contests while averaging 3.00 kills, 0.63 digs and 0.63 blocks per set.
• Wetter matched the program record for single match hitting percentage as he swung at a .909 clip with 13 kills in 14 errorless attempts in Sunday’s four-set win over the 12th-ranked Anteaters.
• He was no slouch either in the season-opening four-set loss at UCI on Saturday. Wetter notched 11 kills on .474 (11-2-19) hitting to go along with two aces, three digs and four block assists.
• The 11 kills in the opener tied for team high honors.

Ryan Wilcox captured his first career Big West Men’s Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week honor as the team’s dig leader in a conference series against No. 10 Long Beach State.
• The 6-2 outside hitter collected 32 digs over the two matches for a 4.00 digs per set average.
• He notched a career-high 18 scoops in the first match, a four-set win, and picked up a pair of block assists as well.
• Wilcox had 14 digs in the rematch as the Gauchos fell in four sets.
• Wilcox also contributed offensively in the win with 10 kills on .368 hitting against the Beach. He had eight kills in the second meeting.

• Long Beach State setter Aidan Knipe earned his first career Big West Men’s Volleyball Freshman of the Week award as he directed the team to a split versus No. 3 UC Santa Barbara.
• In his collegiate debut, Knipe dished out 96 assists over eight sets for a 12.00 assists per set average, which currently leads the nation.
• Knipe tallied 57 assists in Saturday’s four-set win to go along with five digs and three kills. The Beach hit .345 in overall with Knipe distributing to five players who had double-digit kills.
