• CSUN junior Darius Brown II earned Big West Men’s Basketball Player of the Week accolades for February 15-21.
• Brown II had a huge week for the Matadors in a series split with Hawai‘i for his first career weekly honor.
• Brown II recorded the second triple-double in school history to help the Matadors overcome a 23-point deficit on Saturday to win 88-80 in overtime. He posted 18 points, a career-high 16 rebounds and 10 assists.
• Brown also shot 8-of-12 from the field in Saturday’s win. He made a layup with 1:54 to go in regulation to tie the score at 75-75 and send the game into overtime.
• The triple-double was the first by a Matador against a Division I opponent, and the 13th overall in Big West history.
• He also had a season-high tying five steals against UH.
• The 6-2 guard finished with 14 points, six rebounds, six assists and three steals in Friday’s 75-74 setback, in which the Matadors lost on a 3-point bank shot in the closing seconds.
• For the week, the Pasadena native averaged 16.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 8.0 assists and 4.0 steals.
• Brown II shot 60.9% (14-of-23) from the field.
• Brown II leads the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio (4.55).
