Lily Wahinekapu, Cal State Fullerton  Women’s Basketball Player of the Week  Freshman • Guard • Honolulu, Hawai’i

• Cal State Fullerton true freshman guard Lily Wahinekapu began her collegiate career with gusto, nailing the game-winning shot with five seconds to play as Cal State Fullerton opened the season with a victory over Southern Utah. 

• In the season opener, Wahinekapu score 20 points on 54 percent shooting, including a 3-for-5 effort from beyond the arc to go with the final bucket of the contest. She also added seven assists in Tuesday’s win. 

• The native of Honolulu, Hawai’i scored 13 points to go along with eight assists and six rebounds in Saturday’s loss at Utah State.
