Familiar Faces Net Big West Women's Volleyball Weekly Awards

  • Amber Igiede powered Hawai’i to a pair of home sweeps en route to her first Offensive Player of the Week nod, and third Big West weekly award of her career (Freshman -Nov. 25, 2019; Defensive – Nov. 8, 2021). 

  • The middle blocker hit a combined .592 hitting percentage with a team-high 30 kills and 15 blocks in the two matches.   

  • Against UC Irvine, Igiede pounded a career-high 17 kills & hit .630 (17-0-27) to go with her match-high five blocks and an assist. 

  • The Baton Rouge, La., native flirted with a triple-double against UC San Diego, tying her career-high with 10 total blocks to go along with 13 kills on .545 hitting and six digs.  

  • Igiede has now recorded at least one block in 50-straight matches. Her 1.33 blocks per set in 2021 currently rates second in The Big West and 21st in NCAA Division I.

  • Cal Poly freshman libero Peyton Dueck was aces on the service line and active on the floor as she scooped up her third Big West Defensive Player of the Week honor of the season.  

  • Hailing from Aptos, Calif., Dueck averaged 5.00 digs per set and added four aces in wins over UC Riverside and UC Davis.  

  • In the four-set win over UC Davis to open the weekend, she tied her career-high with 28 digs and was a key cog in holding the Aggies to a .099 hitting percentage in the match.  

  • Dueck is leading The Big West in aces per set (.41) and ranks fifth in digs per set (4.10) to anchor the Mustangs’ defensive efforts.

  • Freshman outside hitter Tommi Stockham repeated as Big West Freshman of the Week after leading Cal Poly’s offensive efforts in a pair of victories for the Mustangs. 

  • She averaged 3.88 kills per set, 3.75 digs per set and served up a pair of aces while recording double-doubles in both matches on the weekend.  

  • In a four-set win over UC Davis, the Las Vegas native tallied a match-high 20 kills to go along with 12 digs.  

  • Stockham followed it up with 11 kills and a season-high 18 digs in a four-set victory over UC Riverside to nab her four-set win over UC Riverside Stockham finished with 11 kills and a season-high 18 digs.  

  • During conference play she is averaging 4.00 kills per set and has recorded four 20-plus kill matches. All five of her double-doubles on the season have come against Big West opponents.
