• UC Santa Barbara senior JaQuori McLaughlin is the Big West Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for January 18-24.
• It is the third time in the last six weeks McLaughlin has earned the award. He is the first Gaucho since Alan Williams in 2014-15 to receive Big West POW three times in one season.
• The 6-4 guard had an outstanding two games in a conference road series against CSUN. He averaged 23.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals in a pair of wins, extending UCSB’s win streak to six straight.
• For the week, McLaughlin shot a blistering 76.2% (16-of-21) from the field, including 6-of-9 from beyond the arc. He also went a perfect 8-of-8 at the free throw line.
• In Saturday’s 80-66 win, McLaughlin set a career-high with 25 points on 10-of-11 shooting. He scored 19 of his points and was 7-of-7 from the field in the second half.
• McLaughlin scored 21 points to go along with four rebounds, three assists, four steals and a blocked shot in Friday’s 105-58 victory, as the Gauchos tied a school record with a 47-point victory margin over a Big West opponent. He hit five 3-pointers in the contest.
• In all, McLaughlin scored 46 points in 51 minutes.
• He is tied for the Big West lead with five 20-point games.
