• Extending his record to 10 career Big West Men’s Volleyball Player of the Week awards, Hawai‘i senior Rado Parapunov came up biggest in the most crucial match of the season to date.
• Parapunov tallied a career-high 30 kills in a come-from-behind five-set win on Friday against No. 2 BYU. He hit .440 with eight attack errors in a career-high 50 attempts.
• The 6-foot-9 opposite added 10 digs in that match for his third career double-double and second this season. In addition, he collected five block assists and two aces.
• Parapunov became the first UH player to reach 30 kills in a match since 2013.
• He posted a team-high 10 kills in the first meeting with BYU on Thursday, which resulted in a three-set loss. For the week, he averaged 5.00 kills, 1.38 digs and 0.75 blocks while hitting .366 (40-14-71) overall.

MEN'S VOLLEYBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

• UC Irvine’s brilliant switching of JB Kam from outside hitter to libero is paying dividends as the senior claimed Big West Men’s Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week accolades.
• The 6-foot-3 Kam has assumed the libero position for the last three matches, and the Anteaters have won all three.
• Kam averaged 2.50 digs per set in wins last week over North Greenville and No. 10 Grand Canyon in Phoenix.
• He had nine digs in the three-set win over North Greenville then tied his career high with 11 scoops in the five-set victory over the Lopes.

MEN'S VOLLEYBALL FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

• UC Irvine outside hitter Akhil Tangutur continued to shine since his insertion into the starting lineup, securing his second straight Big West Men’s Volleyball Freshman of the Week award.
• He hit .429 (26-5-49) for the week with just five attack errors in 49 attempts, as the ‘Eaters extended their win streak to three after defeating North Greenville and No. 10 Grand Canyon.
• He hit .667 (10-0-15) against North Greenville and then led the squad with a career-high 16 putaways versus the Lopes. He added six digs, an ace and a block for the week.
