Diane Captures Fifth Career Men's Hoops Weekly Award

• Sophomore Lamine Diane collected his fifth career Big West Men’s Basketball Player of the Week award – and his second consecutive – as his play helped CSUN attain the No. 2 seed in the upcoming conference tournament.

• The 6-foot-7 forward averaged 26.0 points, 11.5 rebounds and 4.0 blocks to lead the Matadors to two tight wins over regular season champion UC Irvine (72-70) and Hawai‘i (86-82).

• CSUN improved to 10-6 and finished tied for second in the league standings, their best finish in 11 seasons as wells as their first double-digit league campaign since 2008-09.

• Diane scored 18 points and grabbed eight boards to go with three assists and two blocks in CSUN’s win at UCI, the first at the Bren Events Center in nine seasons.

• He exploded for 34 points on 13-of-25 shooting in the regular season finale against the Rainbow Warriors. It was Diane’s league-leading seventh 30-point game of the season and his 13th 20-point effort in 19 contests overall.

• The Dakar, Senegal native added 15 rebounds against UH to secure his conference-best 11th double-double (and 31st in his career). The 15 boards tied a season-high.

• CSUN earned its first win at home against UH since 2014.

• Diane also blocked six shots against the ‘Bows to tie a CSUN single-game record.

• He scored 17 points and corralled five boards in the second half against UH, and went 8-of-10 at the free throw line for the game.
