Fabian, Jamerson, Delgadillo Named To Softball Weekly Honor Roll

• UC Santa Barbara junior Sammy Fabian earned her second career Big West Softball Field Player of the Week accolade as the team’s offensive leader at its home tournament.

• Fabian played in four of the team’s six games, batting a team-leading .615 (8-for-13) at the Gaucho Classic.

• She scored five runs and drove in three more as the Gauchos went 2-2 in the games she played.

• Fabian also drew a pair of walks to finish the week with a .667 on-base percentage.

• The Glendale native had a hit in all four games, including a 3-for-3 effort in a 4-1 win over Saint Peter’s. She also went 2-for-3 with a triple and two runs scored in a 6-4 win against Bradley.

• She helped spark near comebacks against Bradley and Portland State on day one. In an 11-7 loss to the Vikings, Fabian hit an inside-the-park home run.

SOFTBALL PITCHER OF THE WEEK

• CSUN junior Kenedee Jamerson claimed Big West Softball Pitcher of the Week accolades after her performance at the San Diego Classic.

• The left-hander registered a 1.29 ERA over 16.1 innings over three appearances. She allowed walked two and struck out seven while only three of the seven runs she allowed were earned.

• Jamerson got the win in a complete game effort against Brown. She scattered four hits and just one run in the 5-1 victory. She did not walk a batter and struck out three.

• Jamerson pitched well in CSUN’s 4-3 win over North Dakota, getting the no-decision after the Fighting Hawks scored three unearned runs off her in the sixth. She allowed six hits in 5.2 innings with one strikeout.

• She also started against San Diego State and yielded three runs (two earned) with three strikeouts.

SOFTBALL FRESHMAN PLAYER OF THE WEEK

• Cal State Fullerton outfielder Megan Delgadillo earned her second Big West Softball Freshman Player of the Week award as the offensive star at its home tournament – the Judi Garman Classic.

• Delgadillo had at least one hit in five of the team’s six games, helping the Titans to a 4-2 record.

• She hit .381 (8-for-21) with four runs scored and also stole a base.

• In a 1-0 win against Texas Tech, Delgadillo led off the game with a triple and scored the game’s only run.

• She singled in a 4-3 win over California, went 2-for-3 with a run scored in a 3-1 triumph against Boise State, and finished 3-for-4 with a run scored in a setback to Fresno State in the tourney finale.
