UC Riverside junior Tia Elpusan captured her third career Big West Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week award with four singles victories over a seven-day period.

Elpusan improved to 6-2 on the year in dual singles contests as she knocked off opponents from Villanova, Ball State, Colorado State and Youngstown State.

She rebounded from a first-set loss in two matches for a pair of three-set wins, defeating Villanova’s Lindsay Zimmerman (4-6, 6-1, 6-1) at No. 1 and Colorado State’s Stella Cliffe (6-7, 6-2, 6-4) at No. 2.

Elpusan also grabbed straight set wins over Jessica Braun of Ball State (6-3, 6-3) and Jessica Stanmore of Youngstown State (6-2, 6-1).

In doubles, Elpusan picked up a pair of wins with partner Sara Khattab, toppling pairs from Ball State and Youngstown State.
