UC Irvine Sweeps Men's Volleyball Weekly Awards

• Junior Joel Schneidmiller picked up his first Big West Men’s Volleyball Player of the Week honor – and the fifth of his career – as he led UC Irvine to a pair of wins.

• The 6-foot-6 outside hitter averaged 4.25 kills, 2.13 digs and 0.63 blocks per set as the Anteaters defeated No. 13 Concordia and USC in four sets apiece.

• Schneidmiller hit .400 (34-8-65) for the week. He hit .463 with a season-high tying 22 kills in the Concordia win. He added a career-best 13 digs to cement his third double-double of the season.

• Schneidmiller came back with 12 kills on (12-5-24) on .292 hitting against the Trojans. He tacked on two aces, four digs and two block assists.

• The Saratoga native delivered a pair of clutch kills to end the match against USC, putting the ball away on back-to-back plays with the score tied 25-25 in the fourth set.

SCOTT STADICK, UC IRVINE • MEN'S VOLLEYBALL DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

• For the third time in five weeks – and the 10th time in his career – UC Irvine senior Scott Stadick is the Big West Men’s Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week.

• The 7-foot middle blocker averaged an astounding 2.63 blocks per set in a dominating performance at the net against No. 13 Concordia and USC.

• Stadick started by tying a season high with 10 total blocks (2 solo, 8 assisted) against Concordia. He added 11 kills on .348 hitting to go along with two digs against the Eagles.

• He bettered his blocking totals against the Trojans, posting 11 total blocks – the most in the country this year – with one solo and a career-high 10 block assists. The 10 block assists ranks 14th all-time at UCI for a match.

• Stadick averaged 1.75 kills per set and had two aces against USC.

PATRICK VORENKAMP, UC IRVINE • MEN'S VOLLEYBALL FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

• UC Irvine setter Patrick Vorenkamp posted his second Big West Men’s Volleyball Freshman Player of the Week award this season, directing the Anteaters to a pair of wins.

• He averaged 11.38 assists and 1.50 digs per set.

• In a four-set win over Concordia, Vorenkamp dished out a career-high 60 set assists, the most by any player this year in a four-set match. He also tied his career best with nine digs to go along with two aces and a block assist.

• Against USC, he had 31 set assists, three digs and one block assist.
